Welcome to

Calder United

History

Founded in 2015, Calder United, located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, has produced many talented footballers. The Club was established for females to participate in the Women's National Premier League, and now has grown to include both community teams and elite women's teams.

The Club won its maiden NPL Women’s title in 2016, before reclaiming the title again in 2019, and 2022. Over the club’s short tenure, we have experienced many highs, after first claiming the Nike F.C. Cup in 2017, and retaining the Cup, on the previous 5 editions of the competition.

Pioneering Partnership: Shifting the Game

In December of 2020, Western United & Calder United joined together in a partnership that would forever change the landscape of Women’s Football.

The partnership would form, Australia’s first female pathway, with one clear, robust development pathway right through to the W-League, with both clubs determined to play a big role in the next generation of both young and senior Matildas as well as forming the core of a future Western United W-League Team.

In 2021, the inaugural Western United Development Squad was formed. The squad, formed largely of Calder United players, trained in an elite program specifically designed to develop talent, which later, would form the foundations for Western United’s inaugural A-League Women’s team.

The Partnership truly flexed its muscles when it was revealed ahead of the 2022/23 season, that Alana Cerne, twins Adriana & Melissa Taranto, and Calder captain Aleks Sinclair, would join another 8 former Calder players in what was Western United’s introductory 25 women squad.
